Massaging has become a "vocation" for me, but it is not my "day job".
I work for the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and spend most of my working day in front of a computer - quite regularly in my home office.
But: I simply love massages. I am lucky to be married to a woman who - thanks to her excellent body awareness - has always enjoyed giving me amazing massages. Since my own body feeling was less developed and I still wanted to reciprocate this gift, I had this idea of "attending a massage course".
Covid-19 provided me with a lot of free time (traveling was hardly possible) and thus ample opportunity to put this idea into practice.
I started with numerous training videos and an online course (that actually does exist for massage therapy) at a massage school in Berlin. While that was very interesting and a useful introduction to theory, it absolutely cannot replace practical training.
I received my hands-on training at "Team-Relax", a small and high-quality massage school in Speyer (Gerrmany). The owner, Mrs. Petra Schoch, is a fantastic instructor with incredible specialist knowledge of a wide variety of massage practices, which she can pass on excellently.
My original idea of “attending a massage course” led to a complete training to become a certified massage therapist and also a certified wellness therapist.
Since then, in addition to my wife, I have been able to provide massages to numerous friends and acquaintances and have thus been able to gain extensive practical experience. According to them, I seem to have a talent for massages and they have encouraged me to offer them beyond my circle of friends.
This way, massaging has become a hobby and the hobby has become a “vocation”. I can hardly imagine that there is anything more beautiful and satisfying than providing sustainable physical well-being to another human being.
I look forward to every massage session - especially with new guests to my practice. Maybe I'll see you there, too?
